Cyanide Dolls features real chicks, although these ones have a Goth edge that would make Siouxsie Sioux proud. The more I read about bizarre fetishes, open lust, models of different shapes and genders, the more anxious I was to see all the site has to offer.
After finally accessing the members' area, the main menu disappeared and so did any navigation options. Sure, I had immediate access to 25 images of the model 'Morphine' chained and bound and her slit in my face, but there was no way to bact-tract without using my 'back' button or without having to log back into CyanideDolls on a more frequent basis than I liked. The design of the site is in serious need of help.
The photos are basic snapshots (1274x878). They're large, have a bit of a grainy quality that bring out the realism. However, there's no real artistry to them. Angles aren't particularly terrific and neither is the framing. I did like some of the original locations and themes. There was a set with Morphine with a Madonna-like halo glow around her head and a mess of menstrual blood seeping from her virginal gown. The sets had a lot of potential. There were some terrific extreme close-ups of Cyanide's smoking pussy and an edgy set with Rosebud, in paradise, being tempted by a snake to taste the forbidden fruit. I definitely enjoyed the erotic metaphors.
There are 43 sets of photos split between eight female and one male model. There are extensive biographies, which lent an element of intimacy to the site. There are band reviews and a forum that makes the site more interactive than most. Cyanide runs the board and often makes posts and answers questions. Requests can also be made.
Each model has one video, which is only about nine movies in all, especially considering that the films play in an embedded Flash player. There are no downloads, or a least if there are I have no idea where they're hiding. The video quality is pretty average. I felt as if I were watching some old silent movie, only there was sound. The image was choppy and frankly I didn't feel that thrilled. One movie was a lesbian feast. The home made film opens with two of the models half naked on a bed tonguing each other's wet mouths. Nakedness and sex ensues.
I liked that the chicks, mainly plump and voluptuous, were edgy and I even appreciated the attempt to reflect this fact in the photo sets. However, Cyanide Dolls is poorly designed, irritating to navigate, has no movie downloads and doesn't have the best quality content. Perhaps in time the site will grow into its own skin, but right now it it isn't worthwhile.
