There are a lot of comic and cartoon sites out there. Some of them are great, but many are exceedingly disappointing. HIP Comix stands up pretty well by offering a wide range of comics by different artists in good-quality digital representations.
One difficulty when dealing with multiple cartoonists is that they all have different ways of organizing their material which makes organizing your site difficult. Unfortunately, HIPComix passes this difficulty on to its audience. Each of the artists has a page where their work is displayed, but sometimes a thumbnails will represent one comic, a series of comic, a volume containing many comic series... - in short, it can take a while before you actually get down to a gallery with a story line.
Worse, to get to an artist's pages you'll first have to click randomly on one of the randomly presented thumbnails on the front page which will take you... well, I don't know where. That'll depend on what you click. However, once you've done that the left hand menu will finally list all of the artist's pages.
A nice feature amidst all the randomness is an every-present and changing 'random image' box on the left hand side of the page, displaying things that might catch your eye. This is one of my favorite things about this site. For once I'm honestly not being sarcastic, the cheekiness appeals to me.
The good news is that one you learn to feel your way around the site you'll find about 512 galleries. The content varies, but you can generally expect great-looking, high-res pictures. There are updates though they are pretty erratic. Judging from the members' forum it looks like sometimes several new sets will be added in a day, then sometimes there will be nothing for weeks, but usually you'll see new stuff a few times a week.
There is a great deal of variety in terms of them and style, but you'll see some very good artwork, some wild plot lines and plenty of sexy themes played out on this kinky cartoon site.
HIP Comix is very difficult to navigate, but once you get the hang of it you'll have free reign of a large and growing treasure trove of artful and sexy cartoon erotica.
