When I come across any kind of comic site, I have to admit that I put greater emphasis on overall design than with a regular porn site. While illustration has never been a huge part of my life, I have always been surrounded by art and artists, so when it comes to creativity, I expect the best out of a comic site. Design-wise, Evil Comics disappoints me as soon as I see the member's page.
There's no sense of design coordination or creativity on EvilComics. In fact, the site design is exactly the same as at least two other porn sites in the network.
I anticipate more thought, even more metaphor when it comes to this niche. Since comics are generally based around dichotomies of good and evil. The members' area makes me think of a Technicolor musical rather than anything remotely evil or fetish in nature. I suspect that this won't be my first complaint about this site.
The navigation is simple. There are six categories including 3D, art, comics, hentai, stories and toons. However, as I sit here staring at the thumbnails, something familiar clicks in my mind that horrifies me even more than the site design. I have seen much of this content before!
In fact, this site has a lot of the same content as its sister site called Lust Comics. The 3D gallery is one section with work that I've never seen and I hope that I never see it again. The images were so basic and stiff that they looked as if a first year new media student created them.
There are many Art sets. Some are so obviously Photoshop creations that I can't even call them art. However, there was a set of BDSM b&w's called Sado that were a creative turn-on. Across the other categories, there's a total of 800 pic sets. Hentai and comics were the only areas that contained any work worth a dime. Comics contained some excellent and original strips with solid stories and that totally made my imagination spin with sado-masochistic fantasies. I should add that this site has not been updated in a year.
In the end, if I were to have paid for Evil Comics, I'd be feeling so cheated right now that I'd be livid.
