Sex Starved

I’ll be honest, when it comes to women, I can’t handle the current trend of skinnier and skinnier chicks on red carpets or in magazines. Give me the broads one finds on Big Tits Curvy Asses any day. I want the babes that eat like a meal, not the ones that need a meal. Back in the glory days of Hollywood, think of classic beauties such as Sophia Loren or Marilyn Monroe. They had great breasts but they had hips that filled out a dress too.

I went to fashion design school for a couple of years, so I have some clue as to what’s gone wrong in a world where average citizens seem to grow obese while the rich and famous fade into hungry waifs. One of my teachers explained that dress mannequins are still based on the glory days of corsets and girdles. Their waists were perfectly proportioned to 10 inches smaller than their hips and their breasts.

That created forms with such exaggerated wasp-like measurements that no one could achieve them through natural genetics. Such a figure in real-life would resemble the sorts of proportions a horny cartoonist might use for modeling a racy female superhero. Nevertheless, the corseted female has remained the basis of post-modern clothing design until this day.

What that means to slim women is almost ironic. To get a tiny waist while maintaining proportion suitable for clothing design without wearing restrictive undergarments means being emaciated. That’s what most models in fact achieve. They whittle themselves down until hipbones or in fact, entire pelvises are exposed, to give the illusion of hips while having no fat on backsides, thighs or waist.

Women actors do the same thing but face one slight problem. Being so skinny means, they don’t have breasts. Sure, they can use padding or double sided tape but most will one day face having to do a topless scene in primetime or for a movie. Therefore, many resort to implants to bolster their sagging undernourished assets.

Finally though, the tide seems to be changing. We might never see a plus-sized woman doing the haute couture shows of Paris or Milan, but we may stop seeing blatantly anorexic girls hungry for success becoming the supermodels of tomorrow. According to Stephen Brown of Reuters, the government and fashion houses of Italy are planning a manifesto to ban dangerously underweight women from modeling.

It would be great if such a trend caught on and prevented what occurred last month to Brazilian model Ana Carolina Resto last month. To be blunt, she starved to death because of the complications associated from long-term starvation. Maybe, you can never be too rich but yes, you can be too thin. Since, you can’t take it with you, maybe that’s food for more than thought.
