Water Bondage is a cool site that combines tying up women with dunking them into giant tanks of water, suspending them from the ceiling then spraying them with fire hoses and many other creative ways of combining BDSM with H2O. We wanted to ask its director, Leu Reubens, some questions about his high quality content as well as what went into making so many memorable still images and videos. He gave some great answers and demonstrated that just because someone enjoys being sadistic, it doesn’t mean he can’t have a sense of humor about it.

Some of those dungeon sets used in your photo shoots look like the real deal. Do you actually film on location or are they all just impressive mockups?

To be honest, some are actual locations and some are mock ups. I’ll leave it to you to guess which are which… ha, ha, ha. Sorry, that’s the sadist in me.

Your models always look like they’re having a blast since you often include candid fun shots along with the intense looking layouts. Nevertheless, have you ever had someone totally panic doing a shoot?

Since so many people have phobias associated with water, when you add bondage to that already scary genre, you definitely have to take extra care in every facet of a shoot for waterbondage.com. Right off the bat I try to make the girls coming in for this as comfy and relaxed as I can. Usually while going over some of the shoot details I can tell if a girl is a little more worried about some scenes than others. Even being that thoughtful and careful, Murphy says that “stuff” still happens. Every once in a while, if I start seeing the signs that a little panic attack might creep into a scene, I try to find a way to back off the pressure a bit. Catch it before it gets bad. I have been pretty lucky so far (can ya see me knocking wood right now?) and haven’t had a scene go terribly wrong yet. But I’m keeping my guard up!

Many of your bondage and torture scenes are rather elaborate. Where do the ideas come from for such complex setups?

While I’m fairly new to the professional production end of this biz, I have been a true pervert for a long time. Having a good imagination and lots of motivation helps. As well, as lots of research. I try to keep an eye on what goes on in my industry. I watch what many of the artists are doing. I read a lot of bondage and BDSM stories. Anything I can find to give me more food for evil thought…lol

With all that water and the use of vibrators, has anyone ever received an unexpected shock?

Again, knocking wood, not yet. Many of the vibrators used for WaterBondage are battery powered and sealed for water use. The Magic Wands are only used before and after water scenes and all connections are set up to be water resistant if not completely waterproof. We did recently have a bulb on lighting pop when spray bounced of off…uh…objects…and hit a light. But so far so good. Keep in mind that safety is truly our first concern before going on with any of my wild schemes.

The artistry on some of the knots is truly beautiful to look at. Where’s the best place to learn how to tie knots?
