Some of us are shy about shopping for certain things. Maybe, your girl in a jam sends you out for tampons. Each store posts signs with photos of individuals in the act of stealing. The first to appear in the window of one Erox Lifestyle Centre, showed a guy allegedly absconding with a $109.96 NZD penis pump under his hooded jacket. Underneath it reads, “When will he pay for the penis pump he stole?”

Wellington lawyer John Edwards, a specialist in privacy law, describes the risky tactic as touching a grey area as far as legalities go. The photo’s subject could sue for defamation. However, he counters, “Mind you, truth is complete defense against defamation, so if this guy has taken the penis pump then it is unlikely to stand up in court.”
