Ebony Babe

I was intrigued by the recently reviewed Magic Stella site. I agree with Mistress Tracy that individual models sites featuring Black women are a rare find. The fact that Stella also models fetish wear makes it that much more enticing. However, although I’ve noticed both male and female performers of color in some fetish flicks, I realized that it is indeed generally portrayed more commonly with Caucasian actors.

I certainly have any reason to believe that different ethnicities are any more or less kinky in their desires. Granted, certain nationalities, as much as races, have stereotypes and generalizations made about their sexual prowess, or lack thereof. I find such prejudices to mostly be false bravado or criticism depending on from whom the compliment or negative comment is coming about a group of people.

When I Googled the subject, I stumbled across something that made me think. An article in The Cavalier Daily by Ryan McEleven (08/26/05) about racial fetish, a preference for a racial group different than one’s own, had pondering the politically incorrect world of porn. I don’t mean to imply that such incorrectness is necessarily offensive . To the contrary, sexual desire sometimes seems to embrace diversity with an honest acknowledgement that what is different about people can be attractive.

Opposites do attract, but we’re conditioned to believe that it isn’t anymore polite or morally right to like someone for being different, than it is too dislike someone for the same. The article goes on to explain that when experiments were done at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, when people were asked to do various tasks involving matching faces of both Caucasians and African Americans, it elicited a response in the brain’s amygala.

That part of the brain reacts to both novelty and fear. At first, the researchers looking at the responses of the White participants in the study they assumed that it was merely a reaction to seeing faces outside their own racial grouping. However, when the same reaction was measured in Black participants it became clear that perhaps the increased activity was perhaps a result of negative stereotypes promulgated by the media and the rest of American society regarding the danger associated with different racial groups.

Mr. McEleveen’s article goes on to explain that Japanese women have taken to wanting to meet the Black-American servicemen stationed at Camp Butler Marine base. He suggests that if people are affected by stereotypes to think negatively of their own race that being encouraged by media and society to actually value differences is as beneficial as the reverse is detrimental. Just think porn could help us all to accept fat, thin, big-busted, flat-chested, Black, White, Asian, Latino and more.
