Damsels in distress appears to be the main theme dominating the exclusive
Shackled Maidens site and right from the get go I feel the sting of excitement.
Creativity stands out the moment I enter ShackledMaidens
member's area. I loved the clean design of the site, the choice of colors suited
the mood exemplified in the photos and the navigation seemed to be simplistic
and easy although there weren't any search features.
While there are no bonus sites with a membership, there are some cool extras.
I particularly enjoyed the 'our toys' section, which focuses on toys used within
the site and gives a bit of background and history. Perhaps the area wasn't
sexy, yet it was fascinating, at least to me and I hope the site producers continue
to add more to this area. There's also a forum and I imagine there will be more
activity once more member's join.
As it stands, the producers have been adding content since 2004. They seem
to add content monthly and there are 41 models and small bios accompany most
of them, 333 photosets and five films. While the amount of
action is limited, the photography looks wicked and one thing I can't deny is
that each damsel is uniquely gorgeous.
There's a blend of black and white and color photography. The sets average
around 45 pictures and you can download complete zip sets. The lighting style
might be a bit dark for some of you, but the erotic and shadowy sensuality of
the lighting is among my personal favorite. The quality of the pictures is exceptional
(2184x1456). Each set depicts the model before she's shackled and then while
she is bound. Metal is the substance of choice and there are chains, belts,
collars, stocks, irons and even unique items like McKenzie Mitts. Photos are
posed, yet I found them absolutely stunning.
The film I watched was highly erotic and the focus was more on the damsel and
the bondage than on any amount of domination. In fact, while the quick and abrupt
movements of the Dom were evident, he was relatively absent from the movie I
watched. Still, the artistic films appealed to me on suspenseful erotic level.
Of course, when it comes to bondage or any BDSM, I'm much more inclined to
like action better. Movies are between four and 11-minutes long and available
in full length. MPEG is the format of choice, yet one film was available for
your iPod. You'll need to use your IE browser to download. The server seemed
a bit slow to me, but films are worth the wait.
There's no doubt that Shackled Maidens is the kind of site I truly
adore, yet I'd be much happier with an increase in videos, a better update schedule,
a more active forum and additional extras that are inline with those already
provided. The site is reasonably priced, yet still needs to grow.
