It's hard to give Powerotics a fair review. On the one hand, its low score is merited; on the other hand, there is a lot of material on this site that doesn't fit terribly well into our rating criteria. This site will appeal to those deeply interested in BDSM culture, but it may not be the most appealing porn site.
The main feature of Powerotics is that it provides extensive literature on BDSM in general, and lots of information about many variant fetishes in sections like bondage teaching, the stables, the clinic, the institute, tortured titties, etc...
There are also section on things like 'spirituality and BDSM,' which I find a little strange as I try to keep my new-age philosophy and religion completely separate from my BDSM and torture porn, but that's just me.
If you want to read extensive how-to articles, essays and BDSM stories this is the place to be. Some of the material is quite good and some of it even seems pretty well balanced in the sense that you'll find an articles on breath play that talks about how dangerous it can be. In this sense, the site tries to be more of an information resource than anything else.
That said, you will find a lot of porn content spread around the site's various sections. Many of the stories and articles are illustrated and there are few dedicated galleries, but finding anything quickly isn't terrible easy as the site is a bit of a navigation nightmare. It'll take you a while to find everything the site has to offer. I would estimate that there are roughly 840 galleries on the site. Most of this can be found in 'movie bound' section which is essentially a mini celebrity site that provides you with BDSM-looking images from various media sources linked to the names of various stars. Needless to say, this content is far from exclusive. Some of these galleries consist of one or two images and none of the galleries are very large. The photo quality is low at best and a lot of the content is downright terrible. Many sections also have links to movies, but these usually take you off the main site and seem to function more as advertisements for a miscellaneous video archive that actual bonus content. There may be movies on this site somewhere, but if there are they are well hidden.
There is a ton of material at Powerotics and it'll be of interested to some BDSM fans, especially those who find text stories erotic. However, given the low quality, the high price, the poor organization and difficult interface, I can't really recommend this site.
