We are definitely used to seeing rope bondage on BDSM sites. This is not to say that sites don't use cuffs and other devices and Infernal Restraints happens to be completely committed to torturous machines and cold cutting steel.
InfernalRestraints design set up and layout is a familiar one to me. The site is clean and you can view the content with full or partial descriptions or with no thumbnail photos. While you can search by episodes, updates and models there isn't a search engine and in the case of this site I'd really love one, not so much to find type of model, but rather by type of device. Extras include a forum, but it wasn't especially active.
This site is seriously into unique contraptions and the thought of them just makes my imagination soar. Aside from more typical BDSM gear like latex, canes and ball gags you can find shackles, cages, spiked beds, iron gags and metal chastity belts among the more inventive and rather medieval listing of equipment.
Each of the 30 photosets include between 50 and 100 images (782x1200). While you can save individual pictures, there's also the opportunity to keep a complete set by downloading a zip file. I loved the location, which is truly a dream or a nightmare for dungeon enthusiasts. The photos are well-lit, yet maintain that dark edge one associates with extreme bondage. There are plenty of long shots to give the full effect of a scene and there are also some fantastic close-ups to give you a more intense view.
Films are only offered in RM and iPod formats. More choice would be better, yet I'm not complaining too much. There are generally three downloadable clips, but you can also save the full 12-minute videos. I wasn't all that thrilled with the quality. It should really be much better. However, I was totally satisfied, in fact quite mesmerized by the action. The films just draw you in from the get go. They are creatively edited and scenes play out like vignettes rather than narratives. I could tell you about a couple of scenarios I watched play out, but the excitement of the site lays in experiencing the action and devices for yourself. The Dom, PD has a fantastically cool demeanor and I admired his technique. Subs can be resistant, yet tortured or pleasured each of them will thrill you.
Many will find weekly updates a bit too filled with anticipation to bear. Infernal Restraints is one of those sites where you just can't wait to see what's next. Aside from a need for better quality films and perhaps even more format choices, this is one site that has truly caught my attention and is bound to capture yours.
