I've always loved bondage, particularly shibari. I love the visual masterpieces that Asian Ropes can create and being rather artistic, the visual is exceptionally important to me. However, this site is more than bondage alone.
AsianRopes is an archive of uncensored DVDs and D/s often accompanies every scene, which shouldn't be particularly surprising since the nature of being bound is submissive. Apparently, this site has been around for about 11 years, so as I enter the member's area I'm not only anticipating a lot of movie titles, but I'm hoping for some excellent navigational features. Sadly, the site isn't well organized.
The member's page profiles various scenes, DVD titles and bonus sites including access to AnimeMoviePass and AsiaMoviePass. There are no photo galleries, but rater the site is simply a video download archive. I expected to be able to sort the content on the basis of pornstar, studio, hirsute or shaved models and even perhaps by an alphabetical list of titles, but alas there were no browsing features.
Instead of the thousands of titles we're promised, I find a mere 40 DVDs. The number hardly represents the content of a site that's been around for as long as year let alone a decade. Basically, you click a movie cover and you're offered a choice between viewing and downloading the film. I was surprised that the films weren't divided into scene clips or offered in any other formats, but admittedly and quite thankfully, the quality was good.
File sizes are well over a gig and while I have a top of the line broadband connection I decided to go shopping while one film downloaded. It was still downloading by the time I got back, which means those with slower connections will have to exercise a lot of patience.
Other than the film title, there's no information about the models, director, studio, length or even a description of a film. Selecting a title is sort of like just winging it and hoping for the best. There are also 45 bonus scenes that you can download in high or low qualities.
Open crab leg and suspension bondage are some of the rope masters techniques, yet there's a high element of domination and babes are gagged, plastic wrapped, flogged and encased in candle wax among other things. There are no English subtitles, which makes it difficult to understand any scripted material or commands. Also, the films are censored and pussy is often pixilated, so don't expect to see any pink in the 20-minute scenes or the hour long DVDs.
Patience is definitely a virtue when you're a member of Asian Ropes. Files are massive and this might pose a problem for anyone whose service provider has a monthly download limit.
