Cancelling Memberships Written by: Steve, 02/06/2006
Memberships to adult sites have their privileges. You can log in daily, view
a horde of content, such as new updates and bonus material, without the hassle
of having to scour free sites looking for specific content. Despite the advantages,
there comes a time when you’ll want to cancel your membership to even the
best of paysites. This may not be as easy a process as it sounds, however, as
some sites are built like casinos – they are meant to keep you in where
you can spend your money with them as opposed to outside where you may spend it
someplace else. Keep the following in mind when you’re ready to cut loose.
You can only cancel through the site/processor you signed
up with
Paysites are marketed in different ways and through various different companies.
For example, you may have found a site you wanted to join after visiting our
site, but when it comes time to cancel, we have no control over the process.
Once you sign up for a site, you are dealing with them or their credit card
processing company directly. Only they can ensure that you aren’t billed
again. Make sure you’re knocking on the right door and you’ll find
that canceling your membership is a lot easier.
Keep your introductory emails
Sites will send you confirmation information when you sign up for them. These
emails can be very important to the cancellation process. They may contain specific
instructions about how to cancel. They may also include information that is
necessary to the process, such as membership numbers, credit card numbers, user
name and password. Keep your correspondence with them handy for the moment that
will inevitably arise when it comes time to cancel.
Check your terms
Some sites require special care when closing your account. For example, you
may be required to notify them of cancellation a couple of days before the actual
end of your term. This can be especially important if you decide to sign up
for a trial period on a site. You may think that a three-day trial would let
you cancel within 72 hours, but you may only have a day before they actually
rebill you for a full month.
Cancellation does not end access
Let’s say you sign up for a site outright for a month. There were no
trials and you felt comfortable forking over the cash for the 30-day term. However,
after a week you decide that you don’t want another month of membership
so you decide to cancel. Remember that you can do it without losing the rest
of the days that you already paid for. Don’t put it off to the last minute
thinking that they will cut off your access to the site. If you have paid for
a specific term, you will continue to have access to the material until that
term is up, no matter when you cancel during that period.
All good things must come to an end. If you’re going to sign up for a
paysite, it can be worth it to read the fine print and keep yourself organized.
Adult entertainment is all about pleasure and more you know about the issues
you face, the more enjoyment you’ll get from your time online.
